We are expanding our mission to include a brand-new preschool program for children ages 2.5 to 4. We are seeking a mission-minded, veteran educator who possesses a "servant's heart" and a high level of professional expertise to lead this initiative. The Role As the Lead Preschool Teacher , you will be the visionary for our new classroom of 15-20 children. Working alongside an assistant teacher, you will be responsible for creating a high-quality educational environment that balances academic readiness with spiritual discipleship. We are looking for a leader who empowers children toward independence and resilience while ensuring the facility operates at the highest level of state compliance.
Key Responsibilities Spiritual Leadership:
Model a servant's heart daily, integrating Biblical truth into lessons and classroom culture.
Curriculum & Instruction:
Design and implement a curriculum that prioritizes independence and resilience , teaching children how to problem-solve and navigate social milestones.
Compliance & Safety:
Maintain the facility in strict accordance with Alabama DHR Minimum Standards and the Child Care Safety Act .
This includes:
Overseeing annual health and fire inspections. Maintaining meticulous student records (immunization forms, medical histories, and attendance). Ensuring the classroom meets all physical environment safety codes.
Classroom Vision:
Design and decorate an inviting, organized space that meets both aesthetic and regulatory requirements.
Family Partnership:
Conduct interviews with prospective families and serve as the primary communicator regarding child development and spiritual growth.
Leadership:
Manage the daily schedule and mentor the assistant teacher.
Required Qualifications & Character Faith & Ministry:
A confessed and maturing Christian faith; active in a local church.
Educational Experience:
At least 10 years in a daycare or educational setting preferred.
Leadership:
At least 2 years of experience in a leadership position (Lead Teacher or Director) preferred.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Deep familiarity with Alabama state and local regulations for preschools, including DHR Performance Standards and background check requirements.
Philosophy:
A proven track record of building resilience and autonomy in children ages 2.5 to 4.
Certification:
Must possess (or be willing to obtain) current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
