Flexible Schedule Assistant Teacher Job Summary:
The Assistant Teacher will be responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher in maintaining the day to day classroom operations while adhering to the company's mission of providing a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for children to grow, develop, and shine. The successful candidate will be energetic, organized, a problem solver, and possess great communication skills. This individual needs to be passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to the success of our next generation.
The day to day responsibilities:
The Assistant Teacher is responsible for supporting the Bright Ideas Enrichment Center Lead Teacher on the oversight and management of their classroom. This position is responsible for supporting the Lead Teacher with all curriculum implementation, classroom and center activities, teacher training, record keeping, and overall student care. The Assistant Teacher will support and assume position responsibilities of Lead Teacher in their absence. The qualified candidate will have effective and positive communication with families and children. They will clean and arrange classroom environments in accordance to program goals and philosophy, as well as, help maintain a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children. Daily assignments may include coverage for other staff during breaks and planning time, clean toys and educational materials, clean common areas such as bathrooms, kitchen, break room and outdoor play areas, remove garbage, inventory supplies, organize art and supplies cabinets.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must undergo a Level 2 background check Child Care experience preferred Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Flexibility in work hours and responsibilities Ability to easily build rapport with students, families and fellow team members Friendly, positive, and approachable demeanor Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all times
Physical Requirements:
Able to frequently lift or move an average weight as in lifting, carrying, and holding children (10-60 pounds) Occasional heavy weights (over 60 pounds) Able to interact with children, teachers, and parents on the playground, in the office, or in the classroom Able to stoop and bend to interact on a child's level Able to seek assistance to perform physical demands on the job if necessary, such as lifting a heavy object or moving heavy objects
