A Preschool or Childcare Teacher works with young children, usually ages 3 - 5, to help them learn the social, motor and language skills needed to be ready for kindergarten and elementary school. Organizes activities and uses play or games to help children learn; develops schedules and routines for children that include exercise and rest. Works in a school or in a childcare center or program.
We are hiring for the 2026•2027 School Year. Preschool Teachers are responsible for the supervision and management of a classroom in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and curriculum plans. The principal duties of the Teacher include: Developing action plans, carrying out activities on a daily basis and evaluating the effectiveness of the child development activities, supervising staff assigned to assist in the classroom, ensuring the safety and physical well-being of the children, maintaining regular communication with parents and contribute to the effective operation of the overall child development center program.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PREREQUISITES
BA or AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or Related Degree with experience and college credits. Willingness to participate in professional training and activities to improve skills. Ability to establish supportive relationships with children & parents to foster a relationship of mutual respect and shared decision-making with families. Be able to relate to and work effectively with children and adults using a non-biased approach. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must pass criminal background, child maltreatment, sex offender registry check, and pre-employment health screening. Ability to work at all levels (floor, small chairs, bending, squatting, and standing). Computer literacy includes email, word processing, Google Suite, and internet navigation This position is full-time, 10 months a year, with unemployment pay for the 2 months not worked. Hours are 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m, children are dismissed at 1:30 each day- the last two hours of the day are prep time. Monday-Friday.
