Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Preschool Lead Teacher/ Administrator to help start a small childcare facility in Springdale. You will be working closely with the owner to get the facility "up and running". We are looking for a well organized and patient person who enjoys responsibility and challenges and is ready to put their own program together. The duties below speak to the work to be done after the center is officially open. Much work will need to be done to help the owner in every aspect of preparation for opening. Duties Develop and execute dynamic lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods. Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth. Implement effective behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and conflict resolution among children. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns through meetings, reports, or daily updates. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom staff to ensure high-quality instruction and classroom management. Conduct assessments of child development using standardized testing tools and document progress for individual learning plans. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols such as first aid and CPR certification. Requirements Proven experience working with children in preschool or early childhood settings; prior classroom experience is essential. Strong knowledge of child development instruction, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques. Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention strategies, and behavior management practices. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, staff, and community partners. Certification in first aid and CPR; ongoing professional development in childhood education preferred. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and Montessori principles where applicable.
