Full Job Description Infant Christian Preschool Teacher Hours:
7:45 AM-3:00 PM Overview Join our Compassion Prep Academy team as an Infant Christian Preschool Teacher, caring for children from infancy through approximately 12 months old. We are looking for a warm, nurturing, dependable teacher who has previous experience working specifically in an infant classroom and has a genuine love for babies and their families. In this role, you will help create a peaceful, loving, and engaging environment where infants feel safe, known, and cared for while supporting their physical, emotional, social, and developmental growth. Our teachers have the special opportunity to partner with families during some of the most important early months of a child's life while demonstrating the love of Jesus through compassionate, attentive care. Duties Provide loving, attentive, and responsive care for infants throughout the day. Follow each infant's individual feeding, sleeping, diapering, and developmental schedule. Create a safe, clean, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Plan and provide age-appropriate activities that encourage sensory exploration, tummy time, movement, language development, music, and early social interaction. Support developmental milestones such as rolling, sitting, crawling, grasping, babbling, and early communication. Incorporate simple Christian songs, prayer, Bible stories, and faith-based interaction into the classroom in an age-appropriate way. Feed bottles and solid foods according to parent instructions and school policies. Change diapers and maintain excellent sanitation and hygiene practices. Closely supervise infants at all times and follow all safe-sleep and infant safety guidelines. Provide comfort and reassurance while helping infants develop secure relationships with their caregivers. Communicate regularly with parents regarding feedings, naps, diaper changes, milestones, classroom activities, and any concerns. Maintain accurate daily records and required documentation. Keep the infant classroom, toys, feeding areas, cribs, and equipment clean and organized. Work closely with the other infant teacher and preschool leadership to provide consistent, high-quality care. Follow all licensing requirements, mandated reporting laws, child safety procedures, and Compassion Prep Academy policies. Requirements Previous experience working in an infant classroom is required. Experience caring for children from birth through 12 months in a licensed preschool, childcare center, or daycare setting is strongly preferred. Knowledge of infant development, developmental milestones, feeding routines, diapering, and safe-sleep practices. Must be comfortable caring for multiple infants and meeting several individual schedules and needs throughout the day. Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain required certification before beginning employment. Strong understanding of child safety, sanitation, and mandated reporting requirements. Patient, nurturing, dependable, and able to remain calm and attentive in a busy infant classroom. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to lift, hold, carry, and care for infants throughout the day and work comfortably on the floor during play and developmental activities. Must support the Christian mission and values of Compassion Prep Academy and demonstrate Christ-like care toward children, families, and coworkers.
