reviews From $17 an hour - Part-time The Aftercare Teacher is responsible for overseeing and engaging students in the elementary aftercare program, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. The teacher will plan and implement a variety of activities to support the social, emotional, and physical development of children. They will follow guidelines and policies that meet AZ Center to Afterschool Excellence program. Teacher will be committed to an inclusive multicultural organization that fosters a culture of respect.

Primary Responsibilities:
Supervision and Safety:
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during after-care hours. Maintain accurate attendance records and accounts for all students. Follow all school policies and procedures to ensure a secure environment.
Activity Planning and Implementation:
Lesson Plan and execute a range of age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, homework assistance, and outdoor play. Encourage positive social interactions among students and foster a sense of community. Adapt activities to meet the needs and interests of individual students.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on their child's progress and any incidents that occur during aftercare. Collaborate with other aftercare staff and school faculty to ensure a cohesive approach to student care.
Behavior Management:
Implement positive behavior management techniques to address and redirect inappropriate behaviors. Foster an inclusive environment where all students feel respected and valued.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain a clean and organized aftercare space. Prepare and distribute snacks according to school guidelines. Attending staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
Job Requirements and Skills:
Able to work indoor and outdoor environments. Physical ability to engage in activities with children, including bending, lifting, and participating in active play. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to manage a group of children, creativity in planning activities, and basic knowledge of child development principles.
