Teacher/Floater - Join the 5th Place Community Childcare Family! 5th Place Community Childcare is seeking an energetic, dependable, and caring Teacher/Floater to join our team! We are a play-based early childhood program serving children from infancy through school age. We believe children learn best through meaningful relationships, hands-on experiences, and the simple joy of play. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing, engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and develop through intentional play and positive interactions. Position Summary As a Teacher/Floater, you will assist in multiple classrooms throughout the day, helping maintain a positive learning environment while supporting teachers and children. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with different age groups and being a valuable team player wherever needed. Responsibilities Provide warm, responsive care to children ages infant through school age Assist teachers with daily classroom routines and activities Supervise children indoors and outdoors Engage children through play, conversation, and hands-on learning experiences Support positive behavior guidance and social-emotional development Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment Follow all Arizona Licensing, Quality First, and center policies Assist with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, and handwashing routines Help ensure classrooms remain organized, inviting, and ready for children each day Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers Step into classrooms as needed to cover breaks, lunches, planning time, and staff absences Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or GED required Fingerprint Clearance Card (or willingness to obtain) 2 Years Experience working with children in a Childcare Program Ability to pass a fingerprint clearance and background check CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Reliable attendance and dependable transportation Positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to lift, bend, sit on the floor, and actively engage with children What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Gets down on the floor and plays with children Understands that relationships come before routines Maintains a positive, calm demeanor Takes initiative and helps wherever needed Communicates professionally with staff and families Is flexible, adaptable, and team-oriented Believes every child deserves patience, kindness, and respect Benefits Supportive team environment Paid training opportunities Paid holidays (eligibility requirements apply) Paid time off after one year Opportunities for professional growth A workplace where your contributions truly matter Ready to Join Our Team?
