The Early Childhood Instructional Coach plans and assists the staff and the administrators in the implementation of academic and social emotional activities for early childhood learners.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required BA or MA in Early Childhood Education, Special Education or related field is preferred Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card CPR and First Aid Certificate MMR and TB Vaccinations Must be at least 21 years of age Experience working with children from birth to 5 years old is preferred Experience and knowledge of age appropriate literacy strategies is preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with others Ability to comprehend and perform functions from written and oral instructions Must be an energetic, highly ethical and possess good emotional and physical health Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Governing Board or the Superintendent may deem appropriate
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and implement literacy activities with the guidance of the teaching staff and administration Coordinate monthly literacy events Assist the teaching staff in developing, planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate, anti-bias curriculum Ensure preparation of the materials needed for the implementation of the literacy and other activities Assist with recording regular observations of children engaged in a variety of activities, with specific emphasis on literacy objectives Assist with administering developmental and mental health assessments as needed Relate to each child with acceptance, understanding and care Model positive and appropriate interactions with children and other adults Maintain open and professional communication with other staff members and contribute to teaching team effectiveness Provide training to parents and staff on language and literacy, brain development, child observations, developmentally appropriate practices, etc. Participate in district sponsored professional development workshops/inservices, attend on-going trainingclasses as directed, and read professional publications for continued professional development Maintain strict confidentiality and use appropriate discretion when working with all district personnel and student and family records and/or information Support and follow the rules, regulations and policies set by the School Board and the District Perform all other duties as assigned by the school board, the Early Childhood Director or his/her designee
Length of Employment:
Nine (9) months School calendar will determine the days worked during the school year.
