As a Preschool Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom where children can explore, learn, and grow. Your leadership will foster a positive atmosphere that encourages curiosity, social-emotional development, and foundational skills essential for future academic success. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while collaborating with dedicated staff and families. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that incorporate early childhood education best practices, including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods where applicable. Create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and supports individual learning styles. Deliver child development instruction tailored to toddlers and preschool-aged children, ensuring activities are age-appropriate and aligned with developmental milestones. Lead classroom management efforts to maintain an organized, safe, and stimulating space conducive to learning and exploration. Assess children's progress through observations, standardized testing when appropriate, and ongoing documentation; communicate findings effectively with parents and team members. Collaborate with specialists in special education and early intervention to support children with diverse needs, ensuring inclusive practices are upheld. Supervise assistant teachers and classroom aides, providing guidance on lesson planning, classroom routines, and child welfare protocols in compliance with mandated reporting laws. Qualifications Proven teaching experience with young children in preschool or daycare settings; prior preschool or private school experience is highly valued. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques. Expertise in curriculum development across multiple domains including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods. Familiarity with classroom management tools and lesson planning software; experience with standardized testing is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Certification in early childhood education or related fields; additional training in special education or child welfare is advantageous. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a flexible approach to meet the evolving needs of the classroom environment.
