• Full-time About Pillar Kids Pillar Kids is a small, intimate preschool in Lafayette, CA, licensed for 24 children.

We run an emergent, play-based program — curriculum follows children's interests and natural curiosity, not a fixed scope and sequence. We invest in our teachers and give them real autonomy to bring this philosophy to life every day. The Role We're looking for a confident, self-directed Toddler Teacher to lead our 2-year-old classroom. You know emergent, play-based learning deeply — and you can translate that philosophy into a rich, responsive environment where toddlers thrive. Plan and manage your classroom independently — daily routines, environment, behavior guidance, and family communication Develop and lead an emergent, play-based curriculum that follows children's interests and supports whole-child development Observe and document children's growth to inform planning and share progress with families Maintain compliance with Title 22 licensing regulations and Pillar Kids policies Required Qualifications 2-5 years of professional childcare or early childhood education experience, preferably with toddlers (ages 2-3) Minimum 12 ECE units, including at least one Infant & Toddler course Strong classroom management skills and experience with child-led curriculum Strong interpersonal and written communication skills for engaging families Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date) Must pass FBI and DOJ background checks Ability to commute to Lafayette, CA Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Reggio Emilia, RIE, or project-based learning frameworks — this is the lens we teach through Experience with Brightwheel or similar childcare management platforms Bilingual in English and Spanish What We Offer $25
