Laguna Niguel Childcare Position Description :

This position requires a weekly part-time assistant to supervise and be responsible for the well being of young children in a licensed home childcare facility. This would include assisting in maintaining a safe, fun and clean environment, monitoring children to ensure they play and interact with one another in a safe and appropriate manner and responding to the physical and emotional needs of the children. Assistant duties would include but not be limited to: Engage in a variety of interactive play

• crafts/drawing, story time, indoor and outdoor games and other educational activities to enhance the child's abilities and prepare for school.

Assisting in good hygiene, potty training and changing diapers as necessary. Occasional meal prep and cleaning of interactive play areas throughout the day.

Skills position requires:

• Knowledge of early childhood growth and development
• Calm, caring approach when interacting with the children, patience, creativity and of course lots of energy
• Strong communication skills and friendly demeanor to build and maintain relationships and contact with parents
• Organized with time management skills and able to take the initiative when things need to be done
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. and physically perform repetitive movements such as bending & lifting as well as any other physical activity required while caring for young children
• Must speak English well enough to communicate clearly with the children and parents.
• Must be able to read and write English well enough to read books and prepare written admin forms required by DSS and records for the company.

Additional details:

• Applicant must be at least 18 years of age
• 2 years of experience caring for age group: infants, toddlers, preschool
• Some college
• early childhood education preferred
• CPR/First Aid certified (can enroll upon hire)
• Livescan fingerprint and background clearance from CCLD and DOJ is to be completed after hire but before first day of work
• negative TB Test within the last two years
• this can be completed upon hire

Schedule and Compensation:

• Part
• time: One to two 8 hour days each week (Preferably Thursday and Friday
• but can be flexible)
• Daily hours approximately 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
• Starting pay is $20
• 23 per hour
• Position pay as an 1099
• Independent Contractor.
