The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and a strong understanding of childhood development, classroom management, and curriculum implementation. This role involves assisting lead teachers in creating engaging learning experiences that promote literacy, math skills, social-emotional growth, and inclusive practices for children with diverse needs, including those with autism and disabilities. Experience in daycare, private schools, Montessori methods, or working with children with special needs is highly valued. The Preschool Assistant plays a vital role in fostering a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment for preschoolers to thrive academically and socially. Duties Support lead teachers in lesson planning and curriculum development aligned with early childhood education standards. Assist in implementing literacy education, math activities, and behavior management strategies tailored to individual student needs. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and cognitive development. Supervise children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and outdoor recess to ensure safety and positive behavior. Help with classroom organization, including setting up learning materials and maintaining a clean environment. Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing additional assistance as needed. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster a collaborative educational atmosphere. Participate in ongoing training related to childhood development, behavior management, Montessori methods, or working with children on the autism spectrum. Assist with daily routines such as diapering/toddler care (if applicable), transitions between activities, and record keeping of student progress. Experience Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development principles and curriculum development is essential. Experience with special education techniques, including working with children with autism or disabilities. Familiarity with classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques. Background in literacy education, math instruction for preschoolers, or Montessori methods is advantageous. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and families. Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive environment that supports diverse learners and promotes positive social interactions.
