Preschool Head Teacher/Site Supervisor at McCloud Elementary School Print Application Deadline Until Filled Date Posted 6/22/2026 Contact Shelley Cain 530-964-2133 104 Number of Openings 1 Salary Pay dependent on experience Add'l Salary Info $22.02/hour-$29.51/hour Length of Work Year 182 days Employment Type Full Time, Part Time Job Summary Job Summary Under the supervision of the Executive Director, oversee, plan, and implement a high-quality early childhood education program to meet the individual developmental needs of all children in accordance with the California State Preschool policies and philosophy of Siskiyou Childcare Council (SCCC).
Essential Functions:
  • Train and supervise all staff, assistants, and volunteers;
  • Organize work schedules;
  • Complete and maintain all required records in accordance with regulations and federal guidelines;
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor appropriate records for each student;
  • Help plan and implement curriculum;
  • Help create a stimulating and educational environment;
  • Supervise and assist in the developmental screening of each child through ASQ Screenings and DRDPs;
  • Conduct two parent-teacher conferences for each child during the school year;
  • Develop a program that meets the individual needs of each child;
  • Provide close supervision of the children throughout the daily session;
  • Responsible for the arrangement, appearance, and décor of the learning environment;
  • Oversee and help perform general housekeeping tasks related to the Center;
  • Ensure that new families participate in an orientation and receive all required paperwork;
  • Refer parents to appropriate services as needed;
  • Maintain a current substitute list and arrange for substitutes when needed;
  • Establish a Parent Advisory Committee and conduct meetings;
  • Maintain a parent bulletin board and parent newsletters;
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal licensing guidelines and regulations;
  • Attend and participate in all SCCC state preschool meetings;
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and training for professional growth;
  • Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with local, state, and federal compliance guidelines;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
Required Education and Experience and/or certifications
  • Must meet the Child Development Permit Matrix requirements or possess a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or must meet the Child Development Permit Matrix requirements or possess a Child Development Permit Development Teacher Permit and qualify for a Site Supervisor Permit Waiver;
  • Must have at least five years of experience in a child care setting or related field;
  • Must currently hold a certification in pediatric CPR and pediatric first aid;
  • Must pass a criminal background check. Competencies
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records and files;
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, supervisory and administrative skills;
  • Knowledge of the operation of personal computers and various software applications, particularly Excel and Word;
  • Ability to work as a team member;
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative workplace relationships;
  • Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with parents, children, co-workers, and members of the public;
  • Maintain strict confidentiality;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the organization's mission and vision.
