SUMMARY OF POSITION
Under the direction and supervision of the Education Coordinator, fulfill the role of Center Director as defined by Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations. Oversee the daily operations of a Head Start center. Teach an assigned group of children. Supervise teaching staff assigned to site. Monitor child attendance. Organize and conduct parent education and parent participation activities. Comply with Head Start and regulations, California Health and Safety Codes, Title 22 and other applicable state, local and federal guidelines. View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Satisfactory results from pre-employment strength test required. Education and/or
Training:
Associates Degree with 24 units in ECE/CD including core courses, plus 16 general education units, plus 3 Administration units.
Experience:
Three years experience in an instructional capacity in an early care and education program including experience working with children with disabilities. Credentials and/or
Skills:
Hold/qualify for a Child Development Master Teacher Permit or higher. Pediatric First Aid and CPR certificate. Knowledge of child growth and development; developmentally appropriate practices; principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation. Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds, and those with disabilities and special needs. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Proof of valid CA driver's license and minimum amount of liability insurance required by law. DMV Driver Record printout required. Credentials and/or
Skills:
