The ideal candidate will support classroom activities, assist with lesson planning, and foster a nurturing environment that promotes childhood development. This role is vital in providing high-quality care and education to young children, including those with special needs or disabilities. Experience with toddlers, preschoolers, in a daycare settings are highly valued. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with other teachers to implement curriculum, manage classroom behavior, and ensure a safe and engaging learning environment for all children. Duties Support each teacher in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards. Assist in developing and executing curriculum that promotes literacy, math skills, and overall childhood development. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that foster social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies. Provide individualized attention to children with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism or other developmental challenges. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and play. Support children during meal times, nap times, and outdoor activities while ensuring safety protocols are followed. Assist in documenting developmental milestones and maintaining accurate records of children's progress. Requirements Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school, or similar settings is preferred. Knowledge of early childhood education principles, including childhood development theories. Experience with special education, behavior management, and working with children with autism or disabilities is a plus. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues. Ability to assist in lesson planning focused on literacy education, math skills, and curriculum development tailored to various age groups including infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
