The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children ages 6 months to 5 years. This position involves working closely with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children to support their growth and development through engaging activities and individualized care. Responsibilities Supervise and engage with children in a safe and supportive manner. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development. Assist with daily routines including feeding, diapering, and naptime. Foster positive relationships with children while encouraging social skills and emotional development. Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment. Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and any concerns. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare. Implement behavior management strategies to support children's needs. Skills Strong understanding of childhood development principles. Experience working with children in various capacities such as daycare, preschool, or nannying. Knowledge of special education practices is a plus. First aid certification is preferred. Ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively. Experience with caregiving roles including babysitting or toddler care. Familiarity with early childhood education methodologies is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for interacting with both children and parents. Patience and empathy are essential qualities for success in this role. This is a part-time role, paying for 4 hours on Sunday mornings, $18/hour.
