Job Description
Job Summary Do you love working with children, being active, and bringing lots of energy and enthusiasm to everything you do? My Gym La Jolla is looking for a fun, energetic, reliable, and outgoing My Gym Teacher to join our team! My Gym is a children's fitness and developmental center where we use movement, music, games, gymnastics, sports, imaginative play, and positive reinforcement to help children build confidence, coordination, strength, and social skills. This is a hands-on, high-energy position where you will be actively participating with children rather than simply supervising them. Our teachers create a fun, welcoming environment where children and parents look forward to coming each week. Responsibilities
- Teach engaging My Gym classes for children ranging from infants through approximately 10 years old
- Lead age-appropriate activities including gymnastics, sports, games, obstacle courses, songs, dances, puppets, and imaginative play
- Follow My Gym lesson plans and curriculum while bringing your own personality and enthusiasm to each class
- Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive environment for children of all abilities
- Demonstrate exercises, skills, games, and activities alongside the children
- Maintain a safe and organized gym environment
- Engage positively and professionally with parents and caregivers
- Help children develop confidence, coordination, strength, balance, and social skills
- Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and general gym cleanliness
- Participate in birthday parties, special events, camps, and other programs as needed
- Work cooperatively with fellow teachers and management
- Arrive on time, prepared, energetic, and ready to teach

- Comfortable speaking in front of groups
- Physically active and able to demonstrate activities and participate on the gym floor
- A strong communicator who works well with both children and adults
- Comfortable taking direction and learning a structured curriculum
- Available for some weekday and weekend shifts
- Experienced working with children, teaching, coaching, gymnastics, dance, sports, fitness, or early childhood education (preferred but not required) Why My Gym?
