This is a preschool to elementary school teaching role in a home environment that emphasizes Montessori practical life skills and real-world expeditionary learning. We weave early reading and writing, math, science, history, culture, and social studies into field trips, intentional travel, interactive games, and quality time in nature. The schedule is typically weekday mornings, Mondays to Fridays, starting part-time with room to grow into a full-time and travel role for the right fit. Alongside teaching, the role includes practical care for young kids 2 and under - including Montessori-style gentle toilet learning for our toddlers - and the child-related tasks like meal prep, laundry, and toy organization that keep a learning day productive. Key Responsibilities Teach preschool and early-elementary subjects in
Mandarin:
early literacy (reading and writing), math, science, culture and history. Cultivate Montessori practical life skills by coaching kids on self-care, care of environment, and care for others. Design and set up Montessori/Reggio-style activities, materials, and learning environments. Prepare and lead learning adventures and field trips. Guide potty learning for our toddlers using a gentle, Montessori-aligned approach.
Handle child-related housework:
children's meal prep and cleanup, children's laundry, toy and materials organization. Arrange play dates and group learning activities with family friends. Coordinate with parents and other caregivers to keep routines and learning consistent. Minimum Qualifications Native Mandarin speaker; teaching in Mandarin throughout the day. At least conversational English for clear communication with parents and other caregivers. 5+ years of professional teaching or early childhood experience with preschool and/or early-elementary ages. Formal Montessori or Reggio Emilia background (training, certification, or substantial classroom experience). Demonstrated ability to design and deliver age-appropriate learning plans. US citizen or green card holder; W-2 payroll. Valid driver's license, clean record, and confident city driver (field trips and activity transport). Strong references from schools or families. Comfortable with hands-on care tasks, including potty learning; discreet, professional, and reliable. Comfortable around small dogs. Preferred Qualifications Fluent English. Degree or certification in Early Childhood Education, child development, or Chinese language education. CPR and pediatric first aid, or willing to obtain.
Pay:
