Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that support early childhood development, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Provide hands-on child development instruction tailored to the unique needs of toddlers and preschoolers, including special education and early intervention strategies. Manage classroom activities efficiently through effective classroom management techniques and lesson planning. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to foster strong home-school connections. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting incidents or concerns related to child welfare. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of childhood development best practices, standardized testing where applicable, and childcare regulations to continually improve teaching methods. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, classroom management, behavior management, and child welfare practices. Knowledge of special education needs, early intervention techniques, and literacy education strategies for young learners. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in childhood development or preschool teaching are advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and children alike. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child safety protocols is essential. Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus; familiarity with standardized testing is beneficial as well.
