• Toddler Classroom The Modern Schoolhouse is hiring a Lead Toddler Teacher for our San Mateo campus — a premium early childhood education and childcare program serving infants, toddlers, and Pre-K children.

We are more than a daycare. Our toddler teachers are credentialed early childhood educators who run language-rich, intentional classrooms. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education OR completed ECE units (required) 2+ years in a toddler classroom in a licensed childcare or preschool setting (preferred) Working knowledge of toddler development, language acquisition, and the whole-child approach Patience, energy, and a genuine love for the toddler age group Comfort with classroom technology and academic language Responsibilities Lead a toddler classroom with structure, warmth, and consistency Plan and deliver age-appropriate monthly curriculum aligned with our whole-child pedagogy Practice Conscious Discipline and gentle behavior guidance Support emerging language, independence, and early social skills Manage diapering, toilet learning, mealtimes, and nap routines Update families via our parent communication app and a Canva-designed monthly newsletter Track and share developmental progress with parents Collaborate with co-teachers to maintain a safe, organized classroom What We Offer $27-$33/hour Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid time off and holidays Professional development support and pedagogy training A genuine career advancement path as TMS continues to grow About The Modern Schoolhouse The Modern Schoolhouse is a premium early childhood education company operating five campuses across California — Eagle Rock, San Gabriel, Pasadena, Duarte, and San Mateo.
