Substitute Preschool Teacher Old Firehouse School - Marin County, CA (San Rafael & Mill Valley Locations) Old Firehouse School is seeking warm, reliable, and engaging Substitute Preschool Teachers to support our three preschool campuses in Marin County — two in San Rafael and one in Mill Valley. We are a Reggio Emilia-inspired program that values relationships, curiosity, creativity, and respect for children. We believe substitute teachers are an important part of our school community, and we strive to build a consistent group of trusted substitutes who become familiar faces to our children and families. Many of our full-time teaching staff began as substitute or part-time teachers, and we often hire from within our substitute pool. Responsibilities Support classroom teachers in maintaining a nurturing, engaging, and safe learning environment Interact positively and respectfully with children ages 2-5 Help facilitate classroom routines, outdoor play, and project-based learning experiences Collaborate with teaching teams across all three school locations Step into classrooms with flexibility, professionalism, and enthusiasm Qualifications Minimum 12 ECE units required Infant/toddler units helpful, but not required Experience working with young children required Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between our Marin locations Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude Dependable, punctual, and responsive availability Position Details Flexible schedule Substitute/on-call position Opportunities for regular weekly work Starting at $22/hour Why Old Firehouse School?
