We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to join our team and work with children ages 3-4 years old. For over 30 years, Little Star Basics and Learning Center has remained dedicated to a simple goal: to build a strong foundation for cognitive and social development through our proven educational curriculum, tailored to a childʼs individual ability and learning style. Our joy lies in the hope of seeing the children in our care become intelligent, compassionate, courageous, excellent, and praiseworthy people in their lives and for the world. Responsibilities Foster a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where children feel supported, valued, and encouraged to explore and learn. Provide a balance of child-initiated and teacher-guided, hands-on learning experiences that support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Plan and lead age-appropriate activities including art, music, outdoor play, small-group learning, and creative experiences that encourage self-expression and curiosity. Observe, monitor, and document children's development and progress through portfolios, classroom displays, and other appropriate assessment methods. Adapt activities and provide individualized support for children with varying developmental needs, including children requiring additional assistance or early intervention. Maintain consistent classroom routines, positive guidance, and effective communication with children, families, and teaching staff to promote a smooth and supportive learning environment. Maintain a clean, organized classroom and participate in ongoing professional development to strengthen teaching practices and support the mission and values of Little Star Basics Preschool.
Qualifications :
12 semester units in ECE/Child Development (required) 1+ year of experience working in early childhood education, infants, toddlers, or preschool (preferred). Experience in the church (optional) College Students Welcomed (has interests in teaching) Licenses & Certifications CPR/First Aid Certification required, or ability to obtain Must pass a health screening and TB clearance (during on-boarding) Must be 18 years or older to apply Schedule Monday-Friday 15-20 hours per week 4-hour shifts Job Type Part-time Pay $20.00-$26.00 per hour Work Location In person
