Trinity Lutheran Preschool and Infant/Toddler Program is a play-based, Christian early childhood education program committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. We believe children learn best through hands-on exploration, purposeful play, and meaningful relationships. Our dedicated staff partners with families to foster each child's social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual growth in a Christ-centered community.
Position Summary:
Trinity Lutheran Preschool is seeking caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Teachers to join our Infant/Toddler and Preschool programs. Teachers work collaboratively with co-teachers and school leadership to create engaging learning experiences that support each child's individual development while maintaining a structured, welcoming classroom environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, values teamwork, and is committed to providing exceptional care and instruction within a faith-based setting.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
  • Supervise and actively engage children in age-appropriate, play-based learning experiences.
  • Implement lesson plans, daily schedules, and classroom routines that support children's developmental milestones.
  • Foster children's social, emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development through positive interactions and intentional teaching.
  • Build warm, respectful relationships with children while encouraging independence, curiosity, and confidence.
  • Assist with daily care routines, including diapering, toileting, handwashing, meals, snacks, rest time, and classroom clean-up.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom that meets all licensing and health requirements.
  • Observe children's progress and communicate appropriately with families regarding classroom activities and development.
  • Collaborate effectively with co-teachers, administrators, and support staff to provide a positive learning environment.
  • Participate in classroom planning, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities as requested.
  • Model Christian values and participate in the spiritual life of the school by praying with children before meals, participating in weekly chapel services, and incorporating Christian principles into daily interactions in a developmentally appropriate manner.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of at least 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, including one course in Infant/Toddler Development.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Willingness to complete Mandated Reporter Training upon hire.
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet all California Community Care Licensing requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children.
  • Previous experience working with infants and toddlers.
  • Knowledge of play-based and child-centered early childhood education practices.
