Broomfield, CO Job Details 18 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Position Overview The Assistant Manager (Back of House Manager / Team Lead) plays a critical leadership role in the daily operations of Dogtopia. This position focuses on overseeing playroom operations, ensuring dog safety standards are upheld, maintaining facility cleanliness, and supporting the development of Canine Coaches and Rovers. The Assistant Manager leads by example in maintaining Dogtopia's high standards of safety, cleanliness, and team culture while helping ensure the smooth operation of daycare and boarding services. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about dogs, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and thrive in fast-paced environments. Key Responsibilities Dog Safety & Playroom Operations Oversee daily open-play operations and ensure dogs are supervised according to Dogtopia safety standards. Monitor dog behavior and body language to maintain a safe and positive play environment. Support Canine Coaches in managing playgroups and handling behavior issues appropriately. Assist with dog evaluations and behavior monitoring. Implement behavior action plans when needed to maintain safe playgroups. Ensure all safety procedures and protocols are consistently followed. Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and support Canine Coaches and Rovers during daily operations. Provide hands-on training for new team members. Monitor team performance and provide real-time coaching. Promote a positive and team-oriented work environment. Assist in maintaining staff accountability for operational standards. Facility Cleanliness & Organization Ensure the facility maintains Dogtopia's high standards for cleanliness and sanitation. Monitor daily cleaning procedures throughout playrooms, suites, and common areas. Ensure sanitation protocols are consistently followed. Maintain organized and properly stocked cleaning and operational supplies. Operational Support Assist the General Manager with scheduling and shift coverage. Support daily operational planning to ensure proper staffing levels. Assist with inventory management and supply ordering. Help ensure all operational checklists and procedures are completed daily. Customer Experience Support the front desk team when necessary to ensure smooth drop-off and pick-up experiences. Address pet parent concerns professionally and escalate when necessary. Help maintain a welcoming and positive environment for both dogs and pet parents. Qualifications Strong passion for dogs and commitment to dog safety. Previous experience in dog daycare, kennel operations, veterinary clinics, or pet care environments preferred . Minimum 1-2 years leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Ability to recognize and understand dog behavior and body language . Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
