Job Description

About us Little Blessings PDO is a preschool in Castle Rock. The Little Blessings PDO Program of the First United Methodist Church is looking to hire group-lead qualified teachers and assistance . This position maybe part-time or full-time Monday-Friday from 8:40am - 2:40pm following the Douglas County School District Calendar with option participate in extended childcare services, special events, and camps. The Staff is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum with co teacher, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Staff must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged, supported, and encouraged to succeed. The Staff must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by cooperatively working with co teacher in developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards. Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through participating in modeling and coaching both as coach and coached based on areas of personal strengths and areas of growth. Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth that are aligned with the Colorado Early Learning Developmental Guidelines and by program administration. Maintain frequent communications with parents through regular newsletters, informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences. Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met. Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children. Maintain accurate documentation, records, forms and files. Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement. Must clear full background checks and must pass health screening prior to start date. Educational Requirements Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE or Hold a Early Childhood Professional Credential 3.0 Level 2 or higher
