Position Overview:
We are seeking a caring and creative teacherwho will serve as the team teacher for a class of 3-year-olds. This role blends the responsibilities of a preschool teacher with a strong emphasis on art and creative expression. The ideal candidate will foster a love of learning through hands-on art experiences while supporting social-emotional development, independence, and a sense of community.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons incorporating art exploration (painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, mixed media, etc.). Guide children in building social-emotional skills such as cooperation, problem-solving, self-regulation, and empathy. Create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and confidence. Document children's work and progress through photos, portfolios, and displays that celebrate their artistic process and growth. Partner with families to support each child's development and share meaningful updates. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art into broader themes and projects. Ensure the classroom environment is safe, welcoming, and rich with opportunities for creative exploration.
Qualifications:
Degree in Early Childhood Education, Art Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience working with preschool-aged children (3-4 years old). Passion for fostering children's creativity and self-expression through art. Understanding of child development, social-emotional learning, and positive discipline approaches. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to create a joyful, engaging, and well-structured classroom environment.
