Lead Toddler Teacher

Young Peoples Learning Center is a privately owned child care center here in Fort Collins and we are looking for a nurturing toddler teacher to ensure that the basic and educational needs of our students are met in our 2-3 year old classroom! As a toddler teacher, you will be required to plan and lead classroom activities, build relationships with children through play and conversation, communicate with parents in person and through our app, work cooperatively with co-teachers and other staff, and ensure that the learning environment remains safe at all times. You should also be an excellent role model for our students and love playing on the floor with kids! To be successful as a toddler teacher, you should be creative, energetic, passionate, and able to encourage self-expression. Top candidates will possess a thorough understanding of child development, the importance of the environment, and the integral role relationship building plays in early childhood development.

Toddler Teacher Responsibilities:

Planning and delivering lessons designed to facilitate students' social, emotional, and cognitive development. Encouraging self-expression through understanding, flexibility, and behavioral reinforcement. Tending to students' basic needs diapering, bathroom help, feeding, dressing, etc. Mediating conflict between students. Modelling appropriate behaviors, even when not on duty. Ensuring that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning at all times. Working with families to gain insight into students' home lives. Tracking and informing parents of students' progress. Attending parent and staff meetings. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in preschool education. Experience working with children with disabilities is a plus. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage young learners effectively. First aid certification is desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues. A compassionate approach to caregiving and an understanding of the unique needs of toddler-aged children.
