Responsibilities Support lead teachers by assisting with lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom activities tailored to different age groups including toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary students. Engage children in age-appropriate educational activities that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional development. Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies to create a safe and welcoming environment. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong home-school connections. Assist with classroom organization, including setting up learning stations, maintaining supplies, and ensuring a clean and safe environment in compliance with health and safety standards such as first aid and CPR. Support children with special needs or those requiring early intervention services by implementing individualized strategies aligned with best practices in childhood development. Adhere to mandated reporting laws by recognizing signs of abuse or neglect and following proper procedures for reporting concerns. Qualifications Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including daycare or preschool environments. Knowledge of early childhood education principles, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and engage parents. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing training in childhood development is a plus. Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and support multiple teachers as needed. Demonstrated understanding of mandated reporting laws and child welfare best practices.
