Toddler Co-Teacher Greenfield Hill Church Nursery School Fairfield, CT Job Details Part-time $25 - $40 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Professional development assistance Qualifications First aid Full Job Description Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, nurturing, team-oriented teacher for our 2's classroom to begin in the Fall of 2026. This is a class of 8 children with 2 teachers. The class meets 3 days a week from 9-12pm. School is in session from September-June. The ideal candidate is Passionate about early childhood education Has a strong understanding of early child development Sees themself as a learner and researcher alongside the children Is a careful observer and listener to the children Is a good communicator and is able to create positive, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues Understands the philosophy of emergent curriculum and child-led learning Duties Establish a supportive, positive learning environment Implement an inquiry-based curriculum sparking joy, curiosity and imagination across all domains Documenting the learning process and progress Communicate with families regularly regarding child's classroom experience and progress across all developmental domains Maintain appropriate and professional standards of behavior with families and colleagues Conduct Parent-Teacher conferences twice per year Engage thoughtfully and collaboratively with teachers, administrators and parents Self-reflect on own teaching practice working toward professional development goals
Requirements Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor degree in early childhood education or related field preferred One year as a preschool teacher preferred Strong understanding of child development principles Strong verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with NAEYC Developmentally Appropriate Practices and the CT ELDS Familiarity with Reggio Emilia Philosophy helpful Ability to sit and/or kneel on the floor and have mobility outside on the playground Ability to lift 40-50 lbs Attending some school events
