Position Summary The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of young children. This role requires patience, creativity, and a strong foundation in early childhood development practices. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily activities that promote learning through play Incorporate Jewish values, traditions, and holidays into classroom activities in an inclusive and welcoming way Support children's social and emotional development, including positive behavior guidance Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being Assist with daily routines such as toileting, meals, and rest time as appropriate to the age group Observe and document children's development and communicate progress with families Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues Collaborate with co-teachers and administration to support classroom and program goals Embrace and celebrate the diversity of our families, including interfaith households Follow all licensing regulations and health and safety guidelines Qualifications Experience working with young children (infants through Pre-K) in a childcare, preschool, or early childhood setting Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices CDA, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred) CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Openness to and appreciation of Jewish culture, traditions, and values in an interfaith context Ability to lift, bend, and actively engage with young children throughout the day Key Skills Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor Creativity and flexibility in planning and instruction Strong classroom management skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Cultural sensitivity and inclusive mindset Organizational and time management skills Work Environment Active, relationship-centered classroom setting within a synagogue community Requires consistent supervision and engaged interaction with young children Includes outdoor play in varying weather conditions A welcoming, community-oriented environment that values every family's unique background

Pay:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
