Schedule:
Full-Time, Monday-Friday About Us At Ducklings Middletown South, we believe that early childhood is a time of magic, movement, and milestones. Our nurturing, play-based environment supports children in developing confidence, curiosity, and independence. We are a supportive, team-oriented school seeking a Lead Teacher to guide our young preschoolers as they grow, learn, and explore. About the
Role:
As the Lead Teacher in our preschool classroom, you'll guide our preschoolers through a world of exploration and discovery. This age is all about imagination, questions, independence—and lots of laughter. As the lead teacher, you'll design exciting lessons, build strong relationships, and help your students prepare for Pre-K while supporting their growth in every area.
What You'll Do:
Foster a positive, engaging classroom culture rooted in safety and respect Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with our curriculum Support learning through dramatic play, circle time, stories, music, art, and movement Encourage independence with daily routines like mealtime, toileting, and transitions Observe and document developmental milestones using Teaching Strategies Gold Collaborate with co-teachers and assistants to support all children Communicate regularly with families through Brightwheel updates and parent-teacher conferences Maintain a clean, organized classroom that meets all licensing and health standards Attend team meetings and ongoing professional development sessions
What We're Looking For:
Lead Teacher Certification through DEEDS 1+ year of experience in a licensed early learning environment Knowledge of preschool development and classroom management strategies Positive communication skills and a warm, team-oriented attitude Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Must meet Delaware child care licensing requirements
