Develop and implement engaging gardening programs tailored for preschool-aged children, fostering a love for nature and sustainable practices. 2. Design and maintain age-appropriate gardens, ensuring a safe and stimulating outdoor environment for young learners. 3. Educate preschoolers about plant life cycles, basic gardening techniques, and the importance of environmental stewardship through hands-on activities. 4. Collaborate with preschool staff to integrate horticulture into the curriculum, creating cross-disciplinary learning opportunities. 5. Foster a sense of responsibility and teamwork among preschoolers by involving them in garden-related tasks and projects. 6. Monitor and manage garden supplies, equipment, and tools, ensuring a well-equipped and organized gardening space. 7. Conduct periodic workshops or demonstrations for preschool staff and parents to encourage involvement and support for the gardening program. 8. Implement eco-friendly practices in garden maintenance, promoting sustainability and conservation principles. 9. Regularly assess and adjust gardening activities to accommodate the developmental needs and interests of preschool children. 10. Collaborate with parents to involve them in gardening initiatives, creating a sense of community and shared responsibility for the preschool garden.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related field. 2. Previous experience working with young children, preferably in an educational or childcare setting. 3. Strong knowledge of child development, early childhood education, and horticulture principles. 4. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with preschool staff, parents, and children. 5. Creativity and adaptability to design age-appropriate and engaging gardening activities for preschoolers. 6. Commitment to fostering a love for nature and environmental awareness in young children.
Pay:
$17.81 - $20.00 per hour
