Early Childhood Educator - Birth to Five Position Summary Seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Early Childhood Educator who is comfortable teaching and supporting children from birth through age five. The ideal candidate understands the developmental differences between infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and prekindergarten children. This teacher must be flexible and able to work in different classrooms based on enrollment, staffing, and program needs. Our Early Childhood Educator will help create safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support each childs physical, cognitive, language, social, and emotional development. Primary Responsibilities Provide nurturing, responsive care and supervision for children from birth through age five. Create a welcoming classroom where every child feels safe, respected, and included. Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, routines, and learning activities. Support children's language, literacy, mathematics, science, creativity, motor, and social-emotional development. Provide age-appropriate tummy time, sensory experiences, music, movement, outdoor play, small-group instruction, and learning-center activities. Follow safe sleep, feeding, diapering, toileting, handwashing, sanitation, and active-supervision procedures. Maintain required teacher-to-child ratios and conduct accurate face-to-name attendance checks. Observe children and document their developmental progress, interests, strengths, and support needs. Adapt activities and classroom practices to meet individual learning and developmental needs. Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior-support strategies. Maintain an organized, clean, safe, and developmentally appropriate classroom. Inspect classroom materials and equipment and immediately report safety concerns. Communicate professionally with families about children's routines, learning, accomplishments, and daily experiences. Maintain accurate attendance, meal, diapering, incident, medication, and classroom records as assigned. Protect the confidentiality of children, families, and employees. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, classroom observations, accreditation activities, and school events. Work cooperatively with teachers, administrators, families, and other members of the school community. Assist in different classrooms when needed to support ratios and daily operations. Required Qualifications High school diploma or recognized equivalent. Six (6) months of experience. Speak English very well. Ability to meet Florida childcare background-screening requirements. Completion of required Florida DCF childcare training or willingness to complete all requirements within the required timeframe. Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices for children from birth through age five. Ability to communicate professionally with children, families, and coworkers. Dependable attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and a positive attitude. Ability to supervise children actively throughout classrooms and outdoor areas. Ability to sit on the floor, bend, stand, walk, lift, and safely assist young children throughout the day. Willingness to change diapers, assist with toileting, support feeding routines, and perform classroom cleaning and sanitation duties. Employer conducts Background Checks and Reference Checks. Preferred Qualifications Florida Child Care Professional Credential, National CDA Credential, or equivalent early childhood credential. Associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or a related field. Previous experience working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, or prekindergarten children. Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification. Knowledge of Florida's Early Learning and Developmental Standards. Experience with child assessment, lesson planning, classroom management, APPLE Accreditation, CLASS, or similar quality standards. Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
