Lead VPK Teacher Explore and Discover Center for Early Learning - 1.0 Palm Bay, FL Job Details Part-time | Full-time $16 - $19 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Preschool CDA Certification Associate's degree Child Development Associate Certification Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description Explore and Discover Center for Early Learning provides full-time and part-time child care, early childhood educational services, VPK, Day Camp and Afterschool Programs for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old. At Explore & Discover Center for Early Learning we believe the preschool years are a crucial part of a child's education. We believe in play with a purpose and through such play children are developing the cognitive, social-emotional, and physical skills necessary for success. Visit us online at www.exploreanddiscover.info. We are seeking a lead VPK teacher to join our growing team. Job applicants shall provide complete and accurate information about their education, training, experience, interests, capabilities, limitations, special skills and at least three outside references, preferably from former employers. Lead Teacher Qualifications An Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, Nursing, or other child related field of study OR An Associate's degree or higher in a subject area not listed above with 3 college level courses in Early Childhood/Child Development OR A Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC) OR A National Child Development Associate (CDA) Lead Teacher Responsibilities Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times. Ensure a safe environment including inspection of materials and environment. Implement lessons for the children in the classroom that are developmentally appropriate and help children develop physically, cognitively, emotionally, and socially. Implement the classroom daily schedule each day. Collect observations of students regularly. Submit lesson plans weekly. Maintain daily child attendance (check-in and check-out) Generate individual student progress reports and meet with parents three times annually to discuss their child's growth and development. Attend employee meetings. Be familiar with state regulations.
