  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to support our educators in creating a positive learning environment for students.
The ideal candidate will have experience in early childhood education and possess the skills necessary to assist with behavior management, and provide support for children with disabilities. This role is essential in fostering an inclusive atmosphere that promotes learning and growth for all students. This position is for a high energy, committed bachelor degreed professional, certified teacher, and/or professional with 3+ years teaching experience to complement our passionate, qualified teachers. Your expertise and love for working with children should be reflected in your preparation and implementation of your lesson plans according to GLA's requirements. Your creative approach to teaching and developing your lesson plans is fundamental to ensuring the students success in their academics while also helping them develop their personalities and life skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. You will exhibit competency on how to organize a class with different age, educational levels and social skills to encourage learning in the easiest way for the group. The goal is to help cultivate the students' interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
  • Must possesses a bachelor's degree. This degree can be in any field.
  • Have a minimum of three years teaching experience at public or private schools. Early childhood or daycare employment does not satisfy this requirement.
  • Special skills, knowledge, certification and/or expertise that allows them to effectively teach curriculum in a specific subject area.
  • Thorough knowledge of teaching, best practices and the legal educational guidelines
  • Commitment to implement and follow all GLA policies and procedures
  • Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills
  • Well-organized and committed
  • Creative and energetic
  • Strong moral values and discipline
  • Current/valid certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Be 18 years or older
  • Valid driver's license
  • Pass a local and federal background check and drug screening
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions.
  • Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
  • Preparing and turning in weekly lesson plans the prior Friday by 12 noon for the following week to admin.
  • Weekly student assessments
  • Quarterly progress reports
  • Data collection as needed
  • Collaboration with ABA, Speech, and OT staff.
