Bay County Learning Academy (BAYCOLA) is a new childcare facility located in Panama City, Florida on Cato Rd. BAYCOLA provides care to children ages 0-5 years with the latest technology, safety systems, and research-based curriculum. We are looking for staff member to fill a range of positions with varying levels of experience and credentialing. Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Food Service Worker, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a nurturing, safe, and enjoyable environment for children. In this role, you will support the food service operations by assisting with meal preparation, serving nutritious foods, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that promotes healthy eating habits and supports the overall well-being of young learners. Duties Assist in preparing and serving balanced, kid-friendly meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards Support food handling procedures, including proper storage, sanitation, and cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas Help with setting up meal service stations, ensuring all utensils, plates, and serving equipment are ready for use Engage with children during meal times to promote positive eating experiences and good manners Maintain accurate records of food inventory, dietary restrictions, and special meal requirements Follow all food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations Collaborate with staff to support catering or special event food service needs within the center Qualifications Previous experience in food service environments such as catering, banquet service, or restaurant work is highly desirable Knowledge of food safety practices and handling procedures in a commercial setting Customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor Experience with food preparation, serving, and maintaining cleanliness in a busy environment Background in hospitality or dietary aide roles is a plus Ability to work efficiently as part of a team while managing multiple responsibilities Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff Join us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children through nutritious meals and caring service!
