Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Teacher to join our team. The position requires a positive demeanor, flexibility and adaptability. Experience with children required. Preferred background in working with children with autism, down syndrome and behavior issues. Experience in writing and following lesson plans required. Responsibilities of a Teacher include, but are not limited to, working as part of a cohesive team to facilitate communication among coworkers and supervisors, creating lesson plans, assessing the needs and developmental levels of each child to properly care for children, documenting and informing parents of daily happenings and progress verbally as well as through electronic means, and providing a safe, clean, and encouraging environment.
Other duties will include:
Caring for and engaging children, including: Teaching self-regulation skills through deep breathing and other Conscious Discipline strategies Helping with dressing/potty skills & adhering to diaper changing schedule Ensuring each child has the assistance required to eat at mealtimes Maintaining an orderly classroom through daily cleaning procedures and organization of materials and supplies, Attendance at monthly staff meetings Hours are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm with a one hour lunch.   • Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
