In this vital role, you will create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment that fosters growth, independence, and a love for learning. Your expertise will help children with developmental disabilities, speech and language challenges, autism spectrum disorder, and other special needs thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Duties Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique abilities and goals Design dynamic lesson plans incorporating curriculum development principles for PreK through first grade Use evidence-based teaching methods such as speech therapy techniques, behavioral health interventions, and sensory integration to support student progress Manage classroom behavior proactively through positive reinforcement and effective classroom management techniques Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavior analysts, and other specialists to deliver comprehensive support Conduct ongoing assessments and standardized testing to monitor student development and adjust instructional strategies accordingly Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, and communication logs to ensure compliance and transparency Requirements Valid teaching certification in special education (ESE endorsement) for PreK/K/1 levels or equivalent credentials or working toward Proven classroom experience working with young children with disabilities in early childhood or elementary settings for at least 1 year Knowledge of childhood development theories and/or behavior management techniques Experience with behavioral therapy approaches, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities Ability to develop engaging lesson plans that meet diverse learning needs Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, families, and specialists Familiarity with IEP processes and progress monitoring tools Join our team to empower young learners through innovative teaching practices that celebrate diversity and promote success.
