Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic VPK Assistant to join our early childhood education team! In this vital role, you will support preschool-aged children in their developmental journey by assisting the lead teacher with classroom activities, lesson implementation, and creating a nurturing learning environment. Duties Collaborate with lead teachers to develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for preschool children. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and maintaining a safe, organized learning space. Assist with literacy and math activities that promote foundational skills in reading, writing, and numeracy. Provide individualized attention and support to children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism. Help facilitate classroom routines such as circle time, snack time, and outdoor play while ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and staff regarding student progress and behavioral observations. Support classroom setup, materials preparation, and cleanup to ensure an efficient learning environment. Requirements Prior experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development principles, including behavior management and curriculum development. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members. Experience with special education strategies, including working with individuals with autism or disabilities. Familiarity with classroom management techniques and lesson planning for preschool or toddler care. Technical proficiency in using educational tools and resources relevant to early childhood teaching. A background in childcare, daycare, private school experience, or Montessori methods is advantageous.
