Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic After-School Counselor to join our vibrant youth development team. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school hours, fostering their social, emotional, and developmental growth. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while participating in a variety of fun and educational activities. Responsibilities Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Lead and facilitate a diverse range of activities including arts and crafts, sports, outdoor play, tutoring sessions, and group games to promote learning and social skills Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques Assist with homework help and tutoring to support students' academic progress in various subjects Implement first aid protocols when necessary, including CPR and AED operation, to respond promptly to minor injuries or emergencies Collaborate with team members to plan age-appropriate programs that cater to the developmental needs of children with diverse backgrounds Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, or concerns Skills Strong classroom management skills combined with experience working with children of different ages and abilities Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and emergency response protocols Experience in special education or working with children with special needs is highly desirable Proven ability to supervise children effectively in outdoor and indoor settings Background in youth group activity facilitation, sports coaching, theater arts, or camp experience is a plus Excellent team leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated commitment to childhood development principles and early childhood education practices Ability to engage children through creative teaching methods, tutoring, or childcare activities Join us in creating a dynamic environment where children can learn, grow, and have fun!
