The Role We are seeking a versatile, energetic, and organized full-time Preschool Floater to join our team. This dynamic role is perfect for someone who loves variety and thrives in a team-focused environment. As a Floater, you will step into various classrooms—ranging from infants to preschool and after-school care—providing essential teaching support, maintaining classroom continuity, and ensuring our high standards of care and education are met across the entire center.
Schedule & Compensation Position Type:
Full-time (Monday through Friday)
Hours:
Typically scheduled within our operational window of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (e.g., 8-hour shifts such as 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.).

Key Responsibilities Classroom Flexibility & Support:
Transition seamlessly between different age groups (infants through school-age) to cover teacher breaks, planning periods, or absences, providing consistent and high-quality care.
Curriculum & Lesson Delivery:
Assist lead teachers in executing daily lesson plans, guiding interactive circle times, managing arts and crafts, and keeping children productively engaged.
Child Care & Safety:
Actively monitor children to ensure a safe, positive, and healthy environment. Assist younger age groups with daily routines, including handwashing, meal/snack times, and potty training or diapering.
Ratios & Compliance:
Help maintain strict state-mandated staff-to-child ratios at all times and uphold all Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing regulations.
Classroom Management & Upkeep:
Assist in keeping classrooms tidy, sanitized, and organized. Help prepare learning materials and reset rooms at the end of the day.
Effective Communication:
Maintain open, warm, and professional communication with children, coworkers, center leadership, and parents. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA (Child Development Associate) or college coursework in early childhood education preferred. 45 DCF Hours Completed (or actively in progress/near completion). Active CPR and First Aid Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain/renew immediately). Strong adaptability, patience, and a genuine love for working with diverse age groups. Excellent communication and team-collaboration skills. Must be able to successfully pass a post-offer Local and Federal (FDLE) Level 2 background screening. Physical Requirements Frequent walking, standing, and interacting on the child's eye level (over 50% of the time). Regular lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Regular bending, squatting, stooping, kneeling, rising from the floor, and performing quick physical movements to ensure child safety.
