Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Ga Prek Lead Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will serve as a key leader in creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for preschool-aged children. Your expertise will help foster early childhood development, support classroom management, and implement innovative curriculum strategies. Responsibilities In this vital role, you will lead a state-funded classroom, implementing a high-quality, GELDS-based curriculum that prepares young learners for Kindergarten success. Your enthusiasm for early education and dedication to child welfare will help lay a strong foundation for our students' academic and social-emotional growth. Responsibilities Curriculum Implementation:
Develop and execute engaging lesson plans aligned with the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS), covering literacy, math, and social-emotional development.
Assessment & Tracking:
Utilize the Work Sampling System (WSS)to conduct ongoing assessments of child development milestones, ensuring all students are meeting state performance indicators.
Classroom Management:
Create a positive, nurturing environment that promotes proactive behavior management and emotional well-being for 4-year-olds.
Compliance:
Maintain a classroom that adheres to all Bright from the Start (DECAL) health, safety, and instructional regulations.
Collaboration:
Partner with parents, assistant teachers, and educational specialists to support individual learning plans and early intervention needs.
Kindergarten Readiness:
Foster foundational skills in literacy and numeracy through play-based and intentional instruction.
Qualifications Certification:
Must hold a valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certificate (T-4 or T-5) in Early Childhood Education, or meet the DECAL lead teacher credential requirements.
Experience:
Proven experience in a Georgia Pre-K classroom or a licensed daycare setting with strong classroom management skills.
Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with GELDS and the Work Sampling System (WSS) is highly preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a DECAL-approved related field.
Communication:
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with Sandy Springs families and our collaborative teaching team.
Training:
Current CPR/First Aid certification and a valid GaPDSnumber are required for the 2026 school year.

$39,000.00 - $70,480.00 per year
