- May) Job Summary We are seeking a warm, energetic, and faith-minded Preschool Teacher to join our weekday team.
This position is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment where young children can grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. The ideal candidate has a deep love for children, a solid foundation in early childhood development, and a desire to weave faith-based principles into daily age-appropriate activities. Key Responsibilities1. Classroom Management & Instruction Plan, prepare, and implement age-appropriate, hands-on lesson plans that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Establish and maintain consistent, gentle, and positive classroom routines and boundaries. Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, safe, and visually stimulating. 2. Student Care & Safety Supervise children closely during all activities, including classroom time, playground recess, and transitions. Maintain strict compliance with all local childcare licensing regulations and the church's child protection policies (e.g., Safe Sanctuaries guidelines). Assist children with personal care needs (toileting, potty training, handwashing, and snack time). 3. Parent & Community Relations Maintain open, positive, and professional communication with parents via daily drop-off/pick-up interactions, newsletters, or classroom messaging apps. Partner with church staff to foster a welcoming environment for school families, keeping them informed of relevant church events or family ministries.
Qualifications & Requirements Faith Alignment:
A visible, active Christian faith and a willingness to teach children basic biblical principles, stories, and Christian values.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with young children (ages 1-5) in a preschool, daycare, or church nursery setting.
Background Check:
Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 35-40 pounds frequently. Must be able to sustain a high level of physical energy, including bending, stooping, sitting on the floor, and standing for extended periods both indoors and on the playground.
