Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Preschool Lead Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. As a key leader in early childhood education, you will design and implement developmentally appropriate curricula that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. Duties Develop and execute comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, GELDS, including literacy, math, physical education, and basic skills to prepare for PRE-K. Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social-emotional learning. Implement curriculum development strategies tailored to diverse learning needs, including special education and early intervention programs. Manage classroom activities efficiently, ensuring smooth transitions and effective behavior management techniques. Monitor and assess each child's progress through observations, documentation, and standardized testing when appropriate; communicate findings with families and team members. Support child welfare by adhering to mandated reporting laws and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom management strategies, and professional development initiatives to enhance teaching effectiveness. Requirements Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom management experience is essential. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention practices, and literacy education techniques. Familiarity with curriculum development tools such as Montessori methods or other early childhood frameworks. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members. Ability to implement behavior management strategies that promote positive social interactions. Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols. Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; relevant teaching experience with young children is required.
