Job Description
Job Summary Flexible Scheduling. Afternoons preferred. Must be 18 years of older. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This position involves working closely with children ages 2 through 4/5 to support their developmental needs and assist in daily activities. The Daycare Assistant will collaborate with lead teachers to ensure that each child receives the attention and care they deserve. The position will be a floating position. The position will focus on ensuring a clean, safe, and organized daycare environment. This is a great starting position for those considering education as a career. Strong employees will have the opportunity to pick up more regular hours, be assigned areas of their own responsibility, build training and experience, and assigned to classes. You must be fun! Sing, dance, run, play and get your silly on! Assist in the supervision of children during indoor and outdoor activities. Support the implementation of daily educational programs and activities. Monitor children's behavior and provide guidance as needed. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns. Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to enhance skills. Cover classes for breaks and as a substitute. Skills Knowledge of childhood development principles is essential. Some studies or perusing your Child Development Certificate or Associates preferred but not required. Experience in childcare , daycare , or related fields is preferred but not required. Must pass a background check. Must earn first aid certificate within 30 days of hiring - we will support you. Ability to learn how to manage a classroom effectively. Experience babysitting or in a nannying role is a plus. Strong caregiving abilities to nurture children's emotional and physical well-being. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and staff. A passion for educating young minds and fostering a love for learning.
