Job Description

Seeking an experienced, loving, nurturing preschool teacher for a preschool classroom at our half day church preschool on Skidaway Island. Candidate must be a team player and must be responsible, honest, trustworthy, and have a child friendly personality. Candidate must be familiar with developmentally appropriate lessons and activities for children ages toddler twos
  • three and must be able to plan and execute hands on learning opportunities for the children.
Candidate must be flexible and demonstrate initiative and must be willing to work as part of a team. Hours are 8:30-1:15, Monday-Friday.
Duties:
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities and lesson plans for children
  • Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
  • Provide individualized attention and support to each child's developmental needs
  • Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play and hands on structured activities
  • Collaborate with parents and communicate regularly about their child's progress
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
  • Monitor and ensure the safety of all children in the classroom
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences twice yearly
  • Collect and maintain developmental assessments for the children to record individual progress
  • Work as a part of a dynamic teaching team with teacher assistant
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Previous experience working with preschool/toddler aged children
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices
  • Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to plan and implement lesson plans
  • Familiarity with learning concepts appropriate for preschool/toddler-aged children
  • Experience in special education or working with children with special needs (a plus)
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain a positive learning environment
