Aug 14, 2026 Job Description Saints Mary & Mathias Catholic School is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic individual to serve as a Preschool Classroom Associate. This role is an essential part of the preschool classroom, supporting both the teacher and students while helping create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, is patient and flexible, and understands that early childhood classrooms are active, hands on, and full of energy. This position requires someone who can support instruction, assist with daily routines, and respond to student needs with kindness and consistency. Position Overview This position is 28-35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, following the school year calendar. Daily hours will fall within the school day, typically between 7:50 AM and 3:20 PM, and will be determined based on classroom needs. The Preschool Classroom Associate works closely with the Preschool Teacher to support instruction, supervise students, and assist with classroom organization and daily routines. Key Responsibilities Support the teacher during instructional time and classroom activities Assist with supervision of students in the classroom, hallways, and playground Help students with daily routines such as arrival, dismissal, snacks, and transitions Provide individual or small group support as directed by the teacher Assist with classroom preparation, organization, and clean up Support student needs with patience, including toileting, basic hygiene, and emotional regulation Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment Communicate effectively with the teacher and staff to support student success Faith Environment Saints Mary & Mathias Catholic School is rooted in the Catholic tradition. Compensation This position includes hourly pay. Qualifications & Skills Experience working with young children preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude Comfort assisting with hands on student needs in an early childhood setting Ability to take direction and support classroom routines Basic technology skills and willingness to learn school systems
