Job Description

at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho, United States Job Description LC State invites applications for the position of Child Care Provider (2 openings). Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $17.90 per hour
Required Qualifications:
Some knowledge of the normal development of children from six weeks to preschool age. Some knowledge of methods used to teach preschool children basic skills. Experience reading and understanding written instructions. At least two years of experience as a teacher in an early childhood setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
National competency-based credential as a Certified Childcare Professional or Child Development. Associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in early childhood education. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in early childhood education, school-age care, child development, social work, nursing, sociology, psychology, human development and family studies, or another child-related field.
Responsibilities:
Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts. Plans and prepares developmentally appropriate curriculum activities, including art, music, and physical activities. Implements activity plans. Monitors, observes, and interacts with children. Cares for the physical needs of children, including feeding, diapering, toileting, dressing, and administering medications. Communicates with parents orally and in writing concerning the needs, progress, and behavior of children. Maintains attendance, meal, and activity records. Assures a safe environment. Designs bulletin boards and other displays. Assists with food preparation, service, and cleanup. Be a backup when the Director is absent. Competencies Oral Comprehension

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand, sit, stoop, squat, run, and climb stairs. Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
