Job Description

We're seeking a reliable, emotionally intelligent, and experienced nanny to provide care for our 8-year-old son. This is a legitimate, W-2 job with consistent hours, steady pay, and clear expectations, regulated by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. While this job does involve spending mornings and afternoons swimming, playing sports, reading books, hiking, doing art, and doing other fun activities , we are not looking for a casual neighborhood babysitter. We're offering a higher pay rate, and more hours because we expect more than passive supervision—we're looking for someone who sees childcare as meaningful work and brings maturity, presence, and purpose to the role, not just scrolling and collecting a paycheck. Our son is a bright, funny, and emotionally complex kid. He does best with someone who: Respects his individuality and adapts to his emotional and behavioral needs. Understands that not all kids thrive under one-size-fits-all care. Can maintain calm and composure and perspective during intense, challenging moments . Has the ability to connect through conversation, creative play, thoughtful problem-solving, and guidance . You're a great fit if you: Have prior experience working with emotionally intense, neurodivergent, or sensitive children (nannying, teaching, behavioral support, etc.). Our son has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and ADHD, but he is considered high-functioning and very capable. Are dependable and professional —showing up on time, communicating clearly, and following through, as with any traditional W2 position. Time off must be requested in advance and agreed-upon schedules must be worked. Can manage overseeing basic tasks (simple meals and clean-up, assist with summer learning assignments, effective transitions) while creating a nurturing, interactive and inquisitive environment . Know how to set calm boundaries without power struggles or emotional withdrawal.
Qualifications:
Must pass a criminal background check . CPR/First Aid certified preferred Reliable transportation and valid drivers license required . Mileage and budget for activities are reimbursed weekly . Experience with therapeutic care, special education, or behavioral support is a major plus .
What We Offer:
A respectful, understanding family who sees you as a long term partner , not just a nameless employee. Consistent hours (17-32 hours per week through August 31, and 7-10 per week during the school year) W-2 pay through a state-funded program. An opportunity to build a meaningful bond and great memories with a truly special kid and gain valuable experience in this field Access to an indoor gym, basketball court, swimming pool, hot tub, game room, etc. Weekly budget for dining out, activities, etc. and generous mileage reimbursement If this sounds like the right fit for you, please apply with a resume and a short note about your relevant experience and approach to caregiving.
