Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Infant and Toddler Teacher to join a co-teaching team. In this role, you will inspire young learners during their formative years by creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Your leadership will foster curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth in toddlers, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning. As a Lead Teacher, you will collaborate with families and teachers to ensure each child's unique needs are met with compassion and expertise. Duties Develop and implement dynamic, age-appropriate curriculum plans that incorporate literacy education, early intervention strategies, and Montessori principles to support holistic childhood development. Lead classroom activities that promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth through play-based learning and structured lessons. Manage daily classroom routines, including diapering, meal times, nap schedules, and behavior management to ensure a safe and nurturing environment. Observe and assess individual child progress using standardized testing methods and documentation to tailor instruction effectively. Mentor and supervise assistant teachers and support staff to maintain high standards of classroom management and childcare quality. Communicate regularly with families regarding their child's development, milestones, and any concerns while fostering positive relationships built on trust. Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, health & safety standards, and childcare policies to promote child welfare at all times. Requirements Teacher Qualified per DCFS Regulations (30 college credit hours, 6 college credit hours in Early Childhood Education, 1 year of classroom experience) Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, particularly with toddlers aged one to three years old. Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies. Familiarity with curriculum development including literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and special education practices such as early intervention approaches. Certification or coursework in early childhood education or a related field; Montessori training or preschool experience is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and community partners. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate standardized testing insights while fostering creativity and independence.
